Onsite Provision (not online)

Dear Parents and Carers,

We wanted to update you on our progress with Summer Holiday Club planning. It is possible that this form of opening will lead us to provide provision that goes against our philosophy but this has to be balanced with the need of some families for childcare.

We are putting safety at the heart of our preparations for everyone in our community: children, parents, carers and staff. We know that we will be open should there be enough interest from parents and carers so those needing childcare can have access to it. It is a question of how bookings can operate and ensuring safety.

We are planning our Summer Holiday Club using the same stringent precautions as were planned to be in place for welcoming more children back in June. Please see our previous correspondence for these details. These can be found at:

See ‘June Opening at Christ Church.’

At present, we can only be sure that we could take bookings for the whole summer to keep in line with the ‘social bubble’ method as per current guidance for childcare providers and schools. This has been clarified for us by Public Health Wiltshire. Nearer the time, we will be able to see what relaxation future guidance has introduced.

Therefore, we will be opening Summer Holiday Club bookings with a discount on our daily price for those prepared to book a place throughout the whole summer. We are inviting families to contact us direct if they are interested in a bespoke booking. Please note that payment for the whole summer is required, but attendance is not.

As government guidance is adjusted, we anticipate that this might allow for more flexibility. We will keep families updated as other booking options become available as a consequence. However, until guidance is updated, we regret that we cannot offer any other booking method that would be would be agreed by Public Health.

What we know so far about opening times:

·      We will offer extended entry and exit times to support staggered drop-offs and pick-ups.

·      We will stay open no later than 5.20pm to allow for the additional cleaning and closing requirements.

The guidance is also asking the following:

“Children should attend just one setting wherever possible and parents should be encouraged to minimise as far as possible the number of education and childcare settings their child attends.”

Our whole summer holiday club method also keeps us in line with this Department of Education advice.

We hope this email finds you all well.
